Treat yourself to this uniquely nourishing experience, which combines a cleansing sauna with a relaxing sound bath - a lovely way to spend a Sunday. We welcome you to enter the sauna from 2:30pm, which includes a shower area if you like to take bursts of coolness in-between the heat. At 3:45 we'll invite you upstairs to get comfortable for your sound bath, including gongs, hangs, drums, chimes and many more instruments. The sound bath is held in a small room with maximum 16 people, ensuring that everyone gets a rich and intimate experience. Working creatively and spontaneously around structured narratives, we weave a tapestry of sound which is unique every time. We'll finish up by 5:15 and you are welcome to hang out in the church till you feel ready to float home into the sunset.|
Our venue is the Finnish church in London, 3 mins walk from Rotherhithe overground station. The concept of a sauna originates from Finnish culture and this one has been recently refurbished so it's clean and toasty warm. The church is a peaceful space which is aligned with the atmosphere we wish to create. It also has a cafe selling tea/coffee and other Finnish treats.
We will provide:
- Lavender eye pillows for all
- Scented coconut oil for moisturising skin after the Sauna
- Tea for our closing circle
Please bring with you:
- Yoga mat, blanket and anything else you need to be comfortable in the sound bath.
- Warm clothes (don't be cold on the way home!)
- Large water bottle (essential for the Sauna)
- Swimming costume
Sonic Bloom was founded in January 2017 by Kevin Davidson and Zoot Lynam, both highly experienced multi-instrumentalist performers. This project carries great joy for us and we look forward to sharing that with you.
